Courtney and I decided that we wanted to have a blogspot page for our dad, Joe. So comment away. We want to hear the best stories and the things that you think make him great!
Happy Father's Day Dad! This is a tribute to what a great guy you are. I remember when you took off my training wheels on my bike in Marlboro, the trampoline for my 8th grade graduation. All those rides to friends houses. How we could never go to the beach at the lake after dark because of the riff raff that was down there. All those papers you wrote for me in high school...okay, in college too. Our fun days on the beach in Maine and at Marshfield and how much you love a good clambake! We would detour to Woodmans in Essex for a box of fried clams, complete with tartar sauce. More recently, our fun visit in San Diego- taking the tour of the bay and eating tacos on the beach. Thank you for always having enough cars on stock for all of us. I love our Christmas Eves having Chinese food where they are always happy to see "Mr. JOE!" Thanks for being a great dad the last 28.5 years!! LOVE YOU!
I was reviewing the Bo site and Court had the great idea to make this site for you so you can see all the things people have to say about you. I remember how you used to let me buy as many books as I wanted but not comics because they didn't count and how you always included me in your house projects like painting and staining. We have some pictures of me doing those things as early as when I was like 3 years old! When I got my license you used to tell me not to drive so close to the edge because I would hit the car parts that fell off and I STILL hit curbs sometimes because I really do hug the road. I love how you let us have so much freedom to do our own things but were always there to watch over and make sure we didn't get in too much trouble (like when you yelled at Amy and me for throwing water balloons off of the roof). Thanks for everything.
"Steel Wrapped in Cotton" One of the most gentle, happy people I've known in this lifetime, backed with a solid, sound foundation. I admire your unexpiring youth and true openess and freedom you hold in your life and the freedom you give to others to have similar in theirs. Likewise, I appreciate the strength and integrity you have cultivated and exercised to support this behavior.
And without you there'd be no O'sullivan Clan, no Truman, and alot of these other blessings in my life.
I also love that your 3x's my elder and we share interests like sailing / windsurfing, tai chi, mma, and... relationship management. I figure it's through a function of my maturity and your unexpiring youth that this is possible!
Many father's day blessings for the many blessings you've allowed in my life
